GALLERY- May 2004

This months gallery is a dip into the online archives of the Cinemationlist files and photos area. Items often get posted to support a message thread and then get forgotten about for others to discover afresh.

Copyright is unclear for many of these items- the Yahoo ID has been indicated for the original poster as they have generally taken the photos themselves of are from their collection.

Majestic

Majestic Cinema Cradley heath, by "Gordonabc62"

Danilo floor

The original flooring underneath removed carpet at the Danilo, by "gordonabc62"

This is shown as the Grand Theatre/Gaumont, Oldham in the author's filing, an interesting then & now double picture, presumably at opening and a more recent photo. The lower view says "A decade of dance 1983-1993" and the facade shows it called Butterflys.

It is unusual for a clock to be added (or indeed included) on a cinema building. Posted by "nor9992001".

Gaumont Oldham interior

The interior of the Oldham Gaumont. Posted by "nor9992001".

Odeon L. Sq. at night

A stunning natural light nighttime exposure shot of the flagship Odeon, by "highbeacon"

Odeon Exeter before demolition

The ABC Exeter before demolition. Posted by "bracketuk".

Odeon Bournemouth

Odeon Cinerama at Bournemouth. Posted by "mr70mmuk".

Drive-in slide

A glass lantern slide, presumably from a Drive-in Theater (Australian?) as the words read:

Patrons

please turn off volume before replacing speaker on stand.

Thank you goodnight.

Open Range at Richmond

It is good to see that modern Cinemas will get in the spirit for new releases. This is "Open Range" at the Richmond Odeon. Is it a coincidence that one of the Projectionists there is a self-confessed Cowboy? Guns & Film, a heady combination!
